So tonight was not the exciting news many of us were expecting, or hoping, for. That said, we are at least still making headway towards a jailbreak for some of us unsupported souls.

What Is Happening?
The folks at the Chronic Dev Team and over there with Greenpois0n have created a tool that will now allow users to send their tasty little Crash Reports and send them to our favorite hackers INSTEAD OF APPLE. THey said it best in their blog post tonight.

  "Instead of allowing this vicious cycle to continue, we decided to write a new program to turn Apple’s own beast against its master, per se. All this program requires from you is to attach your iOS device to your computer and click a single button!"

They have created a new little tool that requires you to plug up your device, and trust them. Scary? Yes, sure... a little bit. But if you can't trust a group of hackers, who can you trust?

I am attaching a video of a dual between the two voice command systems. Microsoft has been seen responding to Apples latest SIRI release with complete distain, responding that they have had that tech for over a year. Well, if you have been curious... it would seem that just because you can talk to your phone does not mean it is as good as SIRI. enjoy.

There are many things you need to consider when attempting to skin your ATV2 XBMC build. That said, the primary issue is memory!

I have been testing, loving, and hating many skins on my ATV2 set up. You must realize that it is extremely different than skinning your PC version, or even the ATV1 version of XBMC. I believe I have narrowed your search to the 3 BEST builds for the ATV2 depending on your style and taste. All have been tested and run for at least a month each.

#1 - reFocus - My current skin and personal favorite. this skin uses decorative text instead of large images to navigate. Its memory requirements are MUCH LESS than most of the skins out there. Of all my tests, this skin has been THE MOST STABLE and has never returned a Crash Report based on low-memory. <--- this is a big deal for me as my all time favorite skin (xperience1080 gives constant low-memory crashes). The latest skin supports some awesome new'ish features, such as:

It is easily editable and its creator is always willing to help.

#2 - Quartz - This skins gives you the same GREAT experience as the actual ATV menu system and is probably the most customizable skin I have come across. It to gives all of the great features as reFocus, but it brings some pictorial menus into the mix for those of you who want/like thumbs, and app icons, in the main menu.

#3 - XeeBo - This is by NO MEANS last. Xeebo was my goto skin on ATV1 and was, for a long time, my go to for the ATV2 until I came across reFocus. XeeBo does a great job of using a lot of images while not overloading the ATV2. It runs smooth and, as of his latest release, has become extremely customizable. It is a must (install and play with)

INKMD has had the pleasure of working with United Way's Extra Special People for over a year now. One of the great programs they run is known as The Big Hearts Pageant. Every year families involved get together and watch some amazing people show off some amazing skills! It is so much fun and, this year, it is being held at The Classic Center in downtown Athens. What FUN!

Is it worth the hype? I would say NO! I am not sure why, or more importantly how, apple succeeds in making this hype worthy news. All I do know for sure is that it is still just the iPhone. Don't get me wrong. I have an iPhone. I enjoy my iPhone. That said... white changes nothing! For me anyway.

It is officially the best thing to happen to the iPad since frash was released last year (but much better). Okay, so it is neat that XBMC has been ported and I have enjoyed playing with it, but to have Navi-X and all of its amazing features that I use everyday on my Boxee Box is just supreme. Easy installation, easy navigation, grand amount of media on my iPad. Thanks NAVI-X, you are my hero!

I am sick of the mass spamming coming out in regards to the iOS 4.3 jailbreak. The fact is that it will come out when it comes out. That said, I have tested the available methods for jail-breaking the 1gen ( i cannot believe I am already having to call it that) iPad and they are not great. By that I, of course, mean that they are not good. I have learned that it is truly not worth doing if it is not an untethered jailbreak. 

If you are on the fence wondering if you should or shouldn't go ahead... I am here for you! DO NOT O IT. There are no features that make it a real draw. Not to mention andy feature that you may receive is already available through apps in cydia! So, if you are on 4.2 or 4.2.1 stay there, untethered, and smiling. Wait out the world and enjoy the peace of mind of a stable iPad!
